Wow! I cannot believe that this is our last blog post
ever! This year has been a wild one and is coming to a close fast. Thinking about
what to write about on this blog post I came up with some options but I've decided to write about the phrase “I was” in reference to the beginning of this
year.
At the beginning of the year I was just a 17 year old
kid who had no idea where I would be going to college or what I would be doing.
While I still have no idea what I want to do, I think that I will gain
experience in college to lead me in a particular direction.
I was a terrible writer at the beginning of junior
year, improved a little bit but I was still and awful writer going into this
year. I would like to think I’m a decent writer now and I have improved because
of Mrs. Genesky and now think before I write. I still find myself trying to
write like I talk but I think I have also gotten better about that (except for
this post).
In the beginning of this year, I was nervous about
what the world held in front of me. Now I am excited for all of the opportunities
that I have in front of me. My life was weighted very heavily on academics and
barely on a social life. Thanks to a few great friends I think I have become
more social and have realized that the relationships you make with people can
serve you for the rest of your life.
Finally, and most importantly, I was different. This year
has changed me a lot whether it be socially, academically, or as a whole. I was
a different person than I am now and I am thankful for that. Looking back on
the past makes me nostalgic but it also gets me excited for what is in store
for the future of not only me but of all of us. Thanks for the memories senior
year.
It was great to read about your progress through the IB program. I'm happy for you man and know you'll do great things during and after college.
ReplyDeleteWalter, let's be honest, you knew all along that you were going to Carolina. The previous three years of hard work led you there, and I knew from the way you talked about it that there was no other college in this world for you other than UNC.
ReplyDeleteI'm incredibly thankful to have you as a friend, and am so glad that this program brought us together. We've had some ups and downs, but I can't wait to see what you do in and after college, and I hope I'll still be along for the ride.
BRUH I am happy that IB has made us good friends. Zues himself could not change our friendship. I cant wait to hang out at UNC and during the summer! Im glad to have met you and to be able to count you among some of my best friends.
ReplyDeleteWe've been bff's for almost ten years, and i can't wait for four more years at the college we dreamed about in 4th grade. It's hard to imagine life without you; you've been the type of friend that you can count on no matter what, even if we haven't hung out in a while, and I'm grateful for that. I think that more than anyone else, you've seen me grow through high school and middle school, and I don't just mean that I used to be really short. You stuck by me even when I was jerk, and have helped me become a better person. <3
ReplyDeleteHey, my dad always says I need to write more like I talk so maybe I need to learn to write from you? It's good for college apps at least, I know that.
ReplyDeleteI've struggled a bit with the whole academic rigor (lol @Lord Baron) and social life balance as well. I definitely wouldn't have guessed you had. You seem to have it all together all the time! And I'm super jealous of you and your friends' super cool adventures that I hear about occasionally. You'll do great at UNC and I can't wait to see what you accomplish!
Wilter! Thanks for enabling my UNC bball obsession and being a constant friend throughout these past two years! I can always count on you for support and adventure and knowing all the words to every popular vine. You are one of the most hard-working and genuine people I know and I know you will do big things at UNC. Maybe I'll see you there sometime :)
ReplyDeleteBecause I have known you for so long I can agree that you have changed a lot this year. I have seen you change so much from a quiet boy at Magellan to a loud fan and kind friend. I'm also happy for you to go to your dream school next year you have definitely earned it! I can't wait to visit you at the least pretty college campus in the country! Also am so excited for our super cool adventures this summer(:
ReplyDeleteEven though you're not going to state, I guess we can still be friends lol. It's been great getting to know you over the past couple of years, high school wouldn't have been the same without you. Glad you can dunk now. Stud club 4 lyfe. See you in 7 out of 8 classes tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteThis made me so happy! Thanks for being such a great friend and always knowing when stuff is due. I'm so glad we've become good friends this year, I would have no idea how to whip/nae nae (spelling?) without you. Your post was great yay. You're going to have so much fun at UNC and I can't wait to see what awesome things you do there/beyond.
ReplyDeleteIt was great to read this Walter! From what I've seen from our friendship you are one of the most hardworking people I know, and I'm confident that it will take you far in life. I admire you being able to recognize your previous weaknesses, and that you have spent time improving them. Congratulations on everything that you have accomplished and on becoming such an awesome and hilarious person! Can't wait for next year at UNC!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWalter Creech-
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your hard work and diligence this year (minus you and Justin totes slacking during 4th quarter/ leaving early during Paper 1).
Hopefully you are as good of a writer as you think you are now...UNC-ers are snobby and will tell you if you're not. Go Pack!
